#4 Try Paw Balm
Paw balm is actually a great way to protect your dog's pads from gravel, sand, chemicals, and heat. All you have to do is apply it to their pads before you take them outside.
#5 Why not use dog shoes?
Most dogs feel uncomfortable wearing something on their feet and hate dog shoes, but some end up loving them. Sometimes it takes them a little time to adjust to them. If you can get your dog to wear shoes, then that's the best way to protect your dog's paws.
#6 Clean and check your dog's paws
Check for a problem before it progresses. Sometimes dogs can develop blisters after a walk on pavement, and you might even find gravel or a thorn stuck in their paw. Make sure their paws are clean and wound-free, or infections could arise.
